Why is cold-pressed so important?

Cold-pressed has to do with the oils that carry the progesterone cream into your body and ultimately to the receptor sites. Cold-pressed oils are pulled out of the seed not extracted by high heat. As with any food, when you heat to high temperatures you remove the enzymes. The vitamins and minerals are still present when you eat the food but you have to ADD enzymes or your body cannot access them. It is the same with here. Since our oils are cold processed they enter the skin more naturally and the bio-availability of the product is higher.

Where can I purchase Cycle Balance Progesterone Cream?

On the side of every page and on our Order page. Our Hormone Balancing Cream Cycle Balance Cream is also sold through distributors. You might want to visit our distributor sites as well and gain valuable information about progesterone in general. Please see our Information Links to find a place to purchase or contact us about purchasing wholesale in bulk.

Where does your progesterone come from and is it certified?

Our Progesterone is micronized progesterone USP from wild yam only. We purchase progesterone and estriol from a USA supplier only. This allows us to get certificates of analysis from US based labs. This helps us when there is a difference in the certificates provided and our own tests.

What is lanol exactly?

Lanol, vegetable ester is a blend of refined vegetable oils. The blend of these oils changes some in proportions at times but the major oils in the product are Soybean, Apricot Kernel, Sweet Almond, Safflower and Sunflower oil. It is listed as lanol because other wise the labeling would have to be changed continually.  Our labels carry the most updated information but at this time (9/2014) the ingredients are…

Cycle Balance Cream Ingredients: Purified water, Carthamus tinctorius (Safflower) seed oil, Sepigel 305 (polyacrylamide, C13-14 isoparaffin, laureth-7), Progesterone USP, Hemp seed oil, Oenothera biennis (Evening primrose) oil, Prunus armeniaca (Apricot) kernel oil, Vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) oil, Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera gel extract), Potassium Sorbate, Sorbic acid

What if i am allergic to soy?

Remember that our product is derived from wild yam and not soy.

Can progesterone cream cause acne or does progesterone cream cause acne?

Acne is caused by many things. Cyclic acne, which is what many people use progesterone cream for acne, is usually due to hormonal imbalance when follicles do not mature properly and therefore erupt prematurely under the skin causing pimples much like immature ovarian follicles will cause cysts. Progesterone is actually commonly used to balance hormones and subsequently results in clearing up acne, or cyclic acne, in doing so. Consider Cycle Balance Plus or Female Hormone Balance; both found at Whole Family Products.

Progesterone Cream FAQs

FAQs About Progesterone

Each woman is unique in how her body produces and responds to progesterone. Some women will require more while others will require less to help alleviate their symptoms. Normally starting out it’s recommended to use the maximum dosage for about 3 months. Cut back the amount used each month until the symptoms of progesterone deficiency disappear. It’s very important to stop progesterone cream usage for at least 5 to 7 days each month.

Where should the progesterone cream be applied?

For optimum benefits the cream should be applied to thin skin areas: inner arms, neck, chest, belly, lower back and inner thighs. The areas should be rotated at least every three days because the hormone receptors in the skin will become clogged. It’s okay to rotate the areas daily.

Who needs to use a natural progesterone cream?

Women who suffer from…

Endometriosis or Fibrocystic Breasts – Both of these conditions are caused from high estrogen levels. Using a Natural Progesterone Cream can help to alleviate the symptoms and or spur on a cure.

Estrogen Dominance – If you have any of the symptoms of estrogen dominance such as:Cycle Balance Cream Natural Progesterone

  • Breast swelling
  • Craving for sweets
  • Depression
  • Fibrocystic breasts
  • Loss of libido
  • Mood swings
  • Water

Menopausal Symptoms – This is caused from excess production of estrogen (see estrogen dominance) and has the added symptom of hot flashes.

Osteoporosis – Women over age 50 are at risk for osteoporosis – natural progesterone cream cures and prevents osteoporosis.

PMS – If you suffer from PMS this indicates a hormonal imbalance. PMS consists of any of the following:

  • A luteal phase (the time from ovulation to menstruation) shorter than 10 days.
  • Headaches
  • Cramps
  • Moodiness
  • Spotting right before the cycle is due.

Vaginal Dryness – This is caused from hormonal imbalances and can be present in women who are breastfeeding, who are menopausal or post menopausal.

When to use natural progesterone cream?

Menstruating Women – Will start the cream after ovulation has been confirmed (or if you are not able to confirm ovulation you can start on day 12-14).Us e the cream up to 14 days prior to the bleeding period. Stop the cream when bleeding starts. If you experience bad abdominal cramps rub a small amount of cream into the lower belly. If you experience migraine headache, rub a bit of cream into your temples or back of neck.

Post Menopausal Women – Start the cream and use twice a day for 3 weeks – then go off a week. The day you start is arbitrary; choose your own day and

Pre-Menopausal Women – Start the cream on day 10 and stop the cream on day 26 for the first 3 months. After 3 months start the cream on day 12-14 and stop on day 26.

Pregnant Women – To help prevent miscarriage early on and to help prevent pre-term labor/premature birth later – start out using ¼ to ½ teaspoon twice a day rubbed into neck, chest, abdomen, lower back and inner thighs. Starting around the 2nd trimester increase to 3 times a day. At around 36 weeks start to wean off to twice a day – at 37 weeks once a day – stop completely at 38 weeks.

It’s safe to resume the cream about 4 weeks after delivery – and if breastfeeding use as post menopausal – if bottle feeding – use as menstruating. The cream helps to prevent and cure post partum depression. It’s safe to go on the cream before 4 weeks if you are breastfeeding as soon as your milk supply is in strong.

Pre-teen Girls – Girls ages 9-13 and who aren’t menstruating yet can use the cream. Use ¼ teaspoon twice a day for 3 weeks – take a one week break. Once the menstrual cycles begin – use the cream according to the menstruating dosage.

The onset of menstruation causes blood calcium levels to be low. This causes PMS symptoms to start a year or so before the actual menarche. Moodiness, craving for sweets are signs of PMS in a pre-menstruating girl. The use of progesterone cream will help to balance the hormones and take away the undesired symptoms making the girl feel good and be in optimum health with little to no PMS.

Yes, the additional benefits are:Cycle Balance Plus for PMS Relief

Can men use natural progesterone?

Yes, men over age 45 can benefit from progesterone cream. Progesterone is made by both male and females, lesser in males. But as men age, the production of progesterone declines. The benefits of natural progesterone for men are to increase the libido, helps to balance the testosterone which in turns helps bones to be stronger and helps to prevent osteoporosis. Progesterone cream has shown to help relieve the pain from rheumatoid arthritis too.

Do I need a prescription from a doctor for natural progesterone cream?

In the USA, no. Because the natural progesterone comes from wild yams and or soybeans it is considered a food product.

Should I switch from the hormones my doctor prescribed to the natural progesterone cream?

This is between you and your healthcare provider. But the facts are that synthetic progesterone or progestin have many ill side effects and synthetic estrogen can be detrimental to your health. Natural progesterone resembles your own progesterone and your body will not have the ill side-effects from using the cream. You need to wean off the synthetic hormones over a 90 day period before discontinuing the use altogether.

What about a family history of breast or uterine cancer?

It is perfectly safe to use natural progesterone cream if breast and/or uterine cancer are an issue. Unopposed estrogen is known to cause cancer in these areas. Progesterone acts to balance the entire endocrine system, thus keeping the estrogens in check and balance thus lowering the risk of contracting these cancers.

What about facial hair?

If you are inclined to suffer from a condition called hirsutism or excessive growth of facial and body hair then you have a hormonal imbalance. Progesterone will act as a regulator and balance all the hormones including the estrogen / testosterone imbalance that causes hirsutism. Normally women who suffer from this have severe PMS too. Natural progesterone will act to balance the hormones thus relieving the symptoms of hirsutism.

What about using estrogen?

Estrogen is very dangerous to use unless you’ve had a blood or saliva hormone test and show that you are deficient in estrogen and this should be done after trying natural progesterone cream. Estrogen should never be used without progesterone as it can cause endometrial and vaginal carcinomas. Estrogen can harm the thyroid and can cause water retention, fibrocystic breasts and fibroid tumors and cysts in the ovaries.

What about women who have had a partial or complete hysterectomy?

Having the uterus and or ovaries removed will put a woman into menopause, thus causing the menopause symptom of hot flashes. Natural progesterone cream will help to restore the imbalance caused from the surgery. Normally all hot flashes will cease within 3 to 8 weeks of use.

What is natural progesterone?

Natural progesterone is a cholesterol derivative which comes from wild yams or soybeans. This natural progesterone matches our body’s progesterone perfectly, thus the reason that using a natural progesterone cream causes no ill side-effects.

Synthetic progestin is an altered form of progesterone. It does not resemble the progesterone in our bodies and thus causes many different side effects such as

  • Abortion
  • Asthma
  • Cardiac or kidney dysfunction
  • Depression
  • Epilepsy
  • Fluid Retention

Will natural progesterone help to prevent or cure osteoporosis?

Studies have shown that women who use natural progesterone cream will help to prevent osteoporosis. Not only will it help to prevent the disease it can help to cure it.

Will using the natural progesterone cause me to start menstruating again if I’m post menopausal?

It is possible while the natural progesterone cream works to balance your hormones that you may experience some breakthrough bleeding. This is normal and due to the hormones balancing. As the progesterone rids the body of the excess estrogens the result may be some minor breakthrough bleeding. Normally this won’t last longer than a couple of months – then once the hormones are balanced, the body will resume the normal post-menopausal absence of bleeding. If bleeding does not cease after several months you may need to seek the advice of your physician.
